Two months have passed and I have not written anything. So much has gone on. There are many things to update you on, and some things that I cannot write about. Things have been good, but also hard. Life, as always, has been busy.
Hadley has graduated from high school.
Here she is on her last day of classes with Charlie-
a bird flew overhead right as I snapped the picture.
She went to two proms with her super nice boyfriend-Kason, and a snazzier couple there could not be.
Hadley and the boys all won awards at their basketball banquet, and, of course, we are not surprised.
LD was MVP, Hadley was Most Improved, HD was best defensive player.

Things are going well with Auntie Datenut living in the apartment. I think she is enjoying being closer to family. We were able to have a little birthday party with her last month.

Another school year ended. I love teaching first grade. But this we knew. Here are some little notes I got from my firsties.
“My favorite thing about you is you love me like a daughter.”
Be still my heart.
And then this one from one of the most “challenging” students-
“You have been nice to me.”
Sometimes I did not feel super nice to him.

LD turned 14. As per his request, I made him his most favorite Kit Kat cake and we went camping.
I turned 41. Kate moved away again. The boys are both working for a nearby farmer full time for the summer. I started a big garden project, began to paint the interior of my house (groan), and have been hatching chicks.
For some reason, three chicks recently have needed help hatching.
Here is one from this morning-
Curiouser and curiouser.
So far, I have kept them all alive.
And that’s something.
Happy Wednesday.
It’s wonderful to see this post ! I’ve been wondering about y’all but I knew you were busy ! Wow ! It’s hard to believe LD is 14 !! I remember when he was 3 ! And you look beautiful for 41 ! ❤️
How your family has grown and changed since I first met you in the blog world. You are all beautiful!
Congratulations on making it through another school year! Missed reading about your adventures, but life goes on anyhow. Love those cards from your students. How wonderful to have a “challenging student” say you have been nice to him/her!! Enjoy that summer life, July starts tomorrow.
So glad to see you posted again!
So many exciting things! 🧡
Thanks a bunch….really!
