Who I am

2009_9_12 030

Hello!

My name is Taylor and I am the wife of the lumberjack and mother to two girls and two boys.

I am thankful for the opportunity to stay at home and raise my children . . .really, I am.

But some days, I am sure to go insane.

Writing  about our lives helps me laugh about how crazy our life is.

Time is flying by.

My kids are growing up too fast . . .

I think I need a pause button.

And technically, my husband is not a professional lumberjack

He is, in fact, an electrician.

An electrician who secretly long to be a Lumberjack.

He works his regular job during the week, and on the weekends, he goes off into the woods to fall trees and occasionally shoot big game.

We are complete opposites and I love him very much.

Thank you for reading this-I am happy to share our lives with you!

Honey, I read each of your blogs with great pleasure! I am certain that you are going to be your generation’s Erma Bombeck, or Barbara Johnson.

I love the pictures you include, and am always smiling when I have finished reading.

Thank you so much for sharing!!!

    Hugs & kisses!!!

    Taylor Baby…
Even though we originally started reading your blog via face book, & we’re no longer doing facebook- your blog is the one thing wer’e not stopping. We too are addicted & we love feeling that even though we’re miles apart, we can still share in your life. The blog, you & your kidlets are all delightful!
You bring a smile to our faces 🙂 Thank you so much for including us!

Hi Taylor! Your mom was right… I read a couple blogs, and this is hilarious stuff. You know, working at a preschool, I hear and see some pretty funny stuff. You can’t help but laugh. I can’t wait for Quinn to do silly things.

I found your website through..”enter into his gates…” Valerie. We were friends when we were young and just found each other again through facebook. I like her blog. Anyway, yours looks fun, too. I’ll make it a point to look at it regularly. (Like I have time to sit in front of this darn thing all the time! 🙂 ) Anyway, I have a blog, too. Come over and take a look and leave a comment, let me know what you think. And anyone else that reads this is welcome to come visit too, the more the merrier! Glad to meet you!

Hey, thanks for visiting my blog! I figure it you’ve waited four days to make resolutions, you can wait until 2011. That gives you 361 days to prepare!

Your site looks like a lot of fun. I’ll be back. (No Arnold Schwarzenegger accent included.)

Just found your blog through Pioneer Woman. Love it. Seems we could be great friends! You can go and check out my blog some time if you want. It’s not up to date, but hopefully it will be some day soon. . .

Hi Taylor, found you through PW’s site. What a lovely, lighthearted, humourous blog. Thanks for sharing 🙂 I can sympathise with being a stay at home mum. I’m a Scottish lass living in New Zealand raising my two rascals, 3 and 1. I have lots of fun and lots of heartache doing so. Keep up the lovely work. Pop by and say hi sometime ;o)

  11. i am enjoying reading your blog immensely!! 🙂 i found a link to you through a comment on lisa’s TMTT!! 🙂 i am adding you to my blog-roll, i hope that’s ok…

    Taylor,

I found your blog from Kelly’s Korner and I have been a follower since then! I have 2 children, so not nearly as crazy, but also have a “handful” of a son like your handsome dude. I sympathize. HA! I am an Air Force wife, and a stay at home mommy as well!

  13. Puna says:

I think 50% of the guys out there want to be lumberjacks too!

  14. Dawn Berreth says:

Hey! I just found you through Not Me Monday… and I must say, I am married to a former lumberjack who is now a chemical engineer. He still likes to climb and fall trees though! :o)

  15. Marlene says:

LOL – I was going to write how I found you but I was blog hopping and I’m not exactly sure WHERE I found you – but I’m glad I did. Love your blog style! My blog is more for family and since I work full time I don’t have a lot of time so my blog doesn’t get updated very often! But we love being in AZ and near our families!

just came across your blog, great!! Do you live in Loveland? It looks like the lake my husband and I used to walk around. We had one of our stores in Loveland and rented in Greeley and then lived in JOhnstown. I miss it up there if you do!!

  17. Kari says:

    Taylor!
    You.
    Are.
    Hilarious!
    Seriously.
I recently started reading your blog and have enjoyed reading each one (started back from the beginning). You have a beautiful family!
The last time I saw you, you were still pregnant with your first and sporting the hair net 🙂 Good to see you again!

  18. What a cute family! I’m looking forward to reading more!

    Oh, Taylor.
I hope you know how much you make me laugh yet inspire me at the same time. I love reading your blog. At times, I find many, many things that we have in common. (Married young, kids out my ears, our friends “left” us 🙂 …etc.) There are times when you can say things that I would never be able to say the way that you do. One of the very first time that I read your blog, I posted this: http://pollockfamilyfour.blogspot.com/2010/02/perfectly-said.html on my blog
You just have a way with using words that I can relate to so much…not to mention you make almost every day of mine by making me laugh. I just love you…creepy, I know! Therefore, I am officially claiming you as my blog friend forever! (BFF, get it?)
And there’s nothing you can do about it…:)

Taylor, I’m totally stupid about facebook. Please tell me where I need to go to vote for your blog. I love your daily insights as well as the family photos.
Could you please give me Danny and Tonya’s home or email address so I can write them a personal note? I’d be most appreciative. Happy Holiday Season!

    Love, Aunt Trudee

I’m a little disappointed. I was looking forward to reading about what it was really like to be a lumberjack’s wife. I imagined it involved living in a house with lots of woodburning stoves. And perhaps a big, blue ox named Babe. But seriously, blog makes me howl with laughter. You have a lovely family!

  22. Hi, Taylor!
I don’t know where you live yet, but I am about to move from urban Nashville, TN to a 640 acre ranch in Oregon and will be homeschooling (with my hub) our three kids! I look forward to following your blog. My passion can be seen at http://www.creativelyfit.com and on facebook at http://www.facebook.com/TheArtistWithinU. Would love to connect and co-promote. Go, moms!! Woohoo!

Taylor, I’ve been reading and enjoying your blog for quite a while now. I am past your stage of parenting-mine are grown and gone but I love your hilarious stories and sweet relationships with your family. I think I found your blog through The Little Brown House. (Is that bimlissa’s mom?) What is the name of Bimlissa’s blog? Keep up the charming stories-you are among the 2-3 blogs I make sure to never miss!

    Brenhna
