G is for Great Words

My life is not the way I had imagined it.  Don’t misunderstand . . .  I am happy and blessed.  It’s just that this is not the life I would have imagined.  I would have never, ever, thought I would be a homeschooling, canning, rabbit-wrangling, chicken-coop-dreamin’, mother of four.

There are things I think I want in life and directions I want my life to go.  But when all is said and done, my plans are not the best plans.  But I do believe God has a plan for my life-a much better plan.  He knows my whole story and He knows the ending.  I am just stuck in one chapter not knowing what will happen next.  The question is this:

Do I trust Him?

Sadly, some days I am weak.  However, I am clinging to this verse:

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and all your plans will succeed.”

Proverbs 16:3

Earlier this week, I asked you all to share some verses that encourage you.  Here they are . . . some Great Words shared by you.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. ”

Jeremiah 29:11

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

Matthew 6:34

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

Romans 8:28

“Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it. ”

Proverbs 22:6

“He shall lead his flock like a shepherd. He shall gather the lambs in His arms and carry them in His bosom and shall gently lead those that have young.”

Isaiah 40:11

“Do not grow weary in doing good. You will reap a harvest if you do not give up.”

Galatians 6:9

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.”

Colossians 3:23

‘Only let us live up to what we have already attained.’

Philippians 3:16

“At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship”

Job 1:20

(This one shows how great Job’s faith was-while even though he had lost everything, he still worshiped the Lord)

Thank you all for sharing!

And on that note-Happy Easter!

He is Risen!

He is Risen, indeed.

My family and some friends have not always been the most supportive of our lifestyle choices—homeschooling being at the top of the list. This verse has helped me on many, many occasions. I even have it saved on a “post-it note” on the desktop of my computer!

1 Peter 4: 4-5 They think it strange that you do not plunge with them into the same flood of dissipation, and they heap abuse on you. But they will have to give account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.

  7. Wonderful Bible quotes. I have a list of them in my kitchen cabinet. A good friend sent them to me when I was struggling with our move. They have been there for almost 4 years now. I still turn to them when I’m struggling.

“My life is not the way I had imagined it. Don’t misunderstand . . . I am happy and blessed. It’s just that this is not the life I would have imagined. I would have never, ever,”…..be a city-slicking, sushi-eating, high-heel wearing, homeschooling momma of six.

See, my hubby and I planned the life you are living. The Lord had other plans. He moved us to a big, noisy, liberal city where the houses are so close together we can hear the neighbors talking on their decks.

I am appreciating your encouragement, “But I do believe God has a plan for my life-a much better plan. ” So, we stay, because the work the Lord brought us here to do isn’t over.

I just started a running program. Saturday was our longest run to date. On the way down I heard “I can do all things who Christ who strengthens me”. It was my mantra and I said it over and over. Almost 3 miles worth! 🙂
