Top of the morning to you all.
1. You had better sit down for this. We are still painting. Herein lies the problem:
We do not have time for the painting. This is unfortunate and results in painting projects being dragged out for decades. DECADES, I tell you! And aren’t you glad I am not the type to exaggerate whilst blogging? I’ll bet it is refreshing for you.
2. The kitchen is done. The loft is done. The living room and a stairway are about 75% done and just need David and his mad ladder-standing-on skills (or skillz, if you prefer) to finish all the hard to reach places.
The boys’ room is also done. Their mattresses have been on the floor of the piano room downstairs and it is driving me batty.
Boys. Not tidy.
And the piano room is not as fancy as it sounds. It is basically a room that holds the piano and the wood stove. The end.
Anywho. David was finally going to set up the new bunk bed set yesterday so we could get the boys off the piano room floor, when, lo and behold, he discovered the makers of said bunk beds forgot to include screws and other various important items that hold bunk beds together.
Drat.
So they are still on the floor. With 4.2 billion trains, hot wheels, and firetrucks to keep them company.
Yay!
3. The astute reader might notice I am not including pictures in today’s post. This is because I am mad at my blog and pictures right now.
I am in the process of REUPLOADING every single picture into my new blog over at The Blogger. Apparently, as soon as I move my blog, all of my pictures disappear because they are tied to this blog.
Would anyone like to guess how many posts Teller has written?
I’ll tell you.
774.
I have fixed about 45 of them. Yes. Be jealous of my life.
4. This post is full of sunshine and absolutely no complaining at all!
5. My cook top is still cracked.
6. My new-to-us minivan could not make it up our road last week in the snow. I got stuck. Then I got scared and decided to back down so I would not be blocking the road on the off-chance someone needed to use the road, too.
No one did. We live in a not-so-popular spot.
I called David and had to wait for him to come and rescue me. And, of course, he was able to make the minivan drive up the snowy road. But the minivan put up quite a fight. It was screaming and RPMs were flying. The van was swerving and I was sure we were facing certain death.
Death by what, I am not sure. But when the minivan makes THAT much noise, you fear for your life.
So, we need a new plan with the winter driving. Because being able to drive to your home is always an asset.
7. David is still hunting every chance he gets and will do so until either
A) He finds the buck of his dreams with a huge rack.
or
B) Hunting season is over.
Sometimes I want to just look at him and shout:
“Just shoot something and get in here and finish painting!”
But, I don’t. I am a wife of honor.
Besides. He helps me when he comes in. So, basically, I am just whining.
Aren’t you glad you tuned in today?
8. My vacuum broke. I blame the kids.
9. When I kiss Little Dude on the cheek, he wipes it off.
And on that note, I am going to end this post full of sunshine and roses and bid you adieu.
{{{HUGS}}} to you and yours.
You could always purchase snow mobiles and leave the car at the bottom of the hill? That would solve one problem… as for the painting, good luck!
LOL… oh sorry for laughing …I’m just so glad someone else has days like that!! We don’t have snow in TX that often. But we did try to drive in the mountains of CO one Thanksgiving and I was sure we were going to slide over the edge of the mountain before we got to where we were going…so I think I know what fear of death you may have been feeling!! Hang in there – it all gets better!!
Colby got a giant buck on the opening day of deer season here (Saturday). I felt sorry for poor Bambi, but was also releaved that he wouldn’t be wasting time looking one anymore.
Also- he didn’t bring it home. We won’t be eating it. Instead, he gave it away to a family that eats them. I was overjoyed.
YOu know, even though you are having one of those days, the mere fact that you let us laugh at you helps me to get past my days of the same sort!
You are fantastico y muy bonita!
The key to painting the stairwell – if you’re hubby’s not getting round to it as quickly as you’d like – is to tape your paintbrush to the end of a broom handle! That’s how I painted our stairwell and it worked a treat!
Totally with you on screeching engines, by the way. We were taking our seven-seater up a VERY steep hill when it basically slowed to a stop, started going backwards and emanating smoke from somewhere obscure. As we had a sheer cliff behind us at the time, this was a little unsettling. To say the least. These things increase your prayer-life, wouldn’t you say?!
Why try to move everything to the new blog site? Doesn’t everyone just leave a message on the old blog site about where the new blog is located? Those who want to read the archives can, and others with catch up with you on the new blog.
May the painting force be with you!!
This is pretty confusing, but I will try to explain. My blog is self hosted through WordPress, but I actually have a guy who does the hosting and he would like to no longer host, so he is cancelling his account. Therefore my blog must be moved. Since I uploaded each picture into that specific WordPress blog, when it moves from that host, all pictures will disappear. Trust me, I have tried every other option. I do not want to lose it because I want to be able to look back at all the pictures/stories in the future, therefore, for my own sake, I want to re upload the pictures. Clear as mud? 😉
Handsome Dude + Little Dude + bunk beds = loads of blogging fodder
The dining room would make me twitch too-hope that is resolved asap!! And the painting too. I love a finished home improvement project, but the actual doing not so much. We just had a huge landscaping project completed. During the hurricane. We’re crazy here too.
*so excited* We have a “piano room” too! It’s got exactly one broken piano in it. It’s supposed to be a real fancy-like adult type of room. But no… Toys are in there. And the broken piano of course. I feel your toy pain. You are 75% done with the painting. That’s almost there in my book. Hang in there! I agree with Ruth above – just let folks browse through the old blog to see all of the beauteous pictures from before.
Oh girl, I am so sorry. Right now my almost 4 year old is eating animal crackers for lunch because I am not strong enough to stop him. Ugh. The life of little ones.
